Thy word
is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path-Psalm 119:105

Keeping the spiritual well-being of clergy and
congregations healthy is a vital element to what keeps a church strong
and growing. For many churches, a single copy of the Bible shared among
many is the only resource available that can be used. Language barriers
and cultural differences require the creation of educational materials
designed specifically for Congo. While the Bible has been translated
into the local mother tongue, Kiluba and Swahili, these translations
(and even French versions!) tend to be expensive and hard to find.
Sunday school materials for younger people, hymnals and Bible study
guides also are in short supply and highly desired by our congregations.
While difficulties in obtaining these types of spiritual formation
tools are challenging, they are not impossible. Overcoming them would
require funding to custom-order materials and the ability to distribute
and sell them at subsidized prices. Your donations for such
evangelistic tools would benefit the Church as a whole, as the North
Katanga continues to be one of the fastest growing United Methodist
conferences in the world.
