Lunge Farm
Without any oxen to pull the
plow your barn will be empty, but with them it will be full of grain. -Proverbs
14:4
Development
projects continued throughout the recent war in our region. One of
these was the creation of the cattle breeding program at Lunge and
Lweji Farm, 25 Km and 40 Km from Kamina. We started with 183 female and
four male cattle. Since then, about 115 cattle have been born, bringing
our total close to 300. Lunge Farm, with 3500 hectares of land, has
recently started to raise dairy cows as well, with the recent purchase
of five.
Mission:
- Teach cattle breeding to
people
- Offer meat and milk from our
farm, especially to the orphanage
- Provide oxen to farmers
- Help the church with
auto-finance projects
Challenges:
- Shortage of veterinary
medicines
- Lack of breeding materials
(veterinary equipment)
Staff:
The staff is composed of 24 people among which 3 veterinary doctors and
1 Agronomist.
