JEUNESSE POUR CHRIST
(J.P.C.), The United Methodist Church’s young adult movement, has been
active in the Congo since 1947. Like youth groups and student movements
in the United States, it is at the local congregation level where
J.P.C. is most dynamic. Each church has its own J.P.C., which meets at
least weekly. There are also J.P.C. events and officers at the district
and conference levels.
An integral part of The United Methodist Church, J.P.C. focuses on the
following goals:
- Educate: Spiritual,
Family, Civic, and Social topics
- Deepen Biblical knowledge
and the spiritual life of young adults.
- Promote a passion for
evangelism and help young adults to follow Jesus and be active in the
Christian community.
- Promote a spirit of mutual
respect among the young adults and devotion for the church and
government.
- Create a sense of
responsibility among young adults towards their family and the church.
- Help the young adults as
they choose their life path.
